This Thanksgiving...

I know none of you let the year pass you by and then this time of year you stop and realize all your blessings. But unfortunately, I do. So I wanted to take a minute and give thanks.

1. Husband. Gary Kade is not my better half. He is my better mirror image. Just with a little more reason and a little more compassion. I am working on that. :) How blessed I am to come home everyday and hang out with him.

2. Mom and Dad. My parents would do anything for me and at the drop of the hat would come rescue me if I needed it. Didn't think there was another set of parents like that on Earth. And then I met my in-laws. I am truly blessed.

3. Sister. Every girl is lucky to have a sister. A sister bond is one that cannot be matched. I love mine for always pushing me. She helps with that severe problem of self-doubt I have :)

4. Health. I ran a marathon this year! I am grateful for the health and strength to do this. I have torn my hamstring once in dance back in the day. It is frustrating to not be able to do the things you know you can and so I am truly grateful my legs and lungs can handle the journey I have taken them on.

5. Work and co-workers. Okay, we are all grateful to have a job. That is number 1. But when we get there, not all of us can tolerate the people we work with, or we are counting the minutes until we leave. I cannot stress enough how blessed I am to truly enjoy the people I work with. Truly a second family of mine. Some days I will come home with my mascara almost off from how much I've been laughing. Thankful everyday for them.

6. Modern conveniences. Grocery stores(we can go to the store and buy bread and milk. the pioneers are laughing at us), washing machines, A/C (apparently there was a time when this wasn't in cars... and I grew up with a swamp cooler for a few years), heat, cars that run, dishwashers...the list goes on.

7. Friends. I have noticed that the older you get the more these numbers get smaller and the more they change. But there are people that will be with you through it all. Hold onto those ones tight. The rest may just be there for a season.

8. College Degree. Mom and Dad, you deserve all this credit. I just went to class. That was the easy part. Love you.

9. Above all, I am grateful for God and my relationship with him. He is the rock in my life. Without him, nothing is possible. Having him as a constant companion is the best decision I have made and that I will continue to make everyday. With that, the rest falls into place. I cannot fathom living a life where I didn't have this knowledge.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Enjoy your time spent with family and time stuffing your face :)
